I am Nassib Kitabu, Founder and Executive Director of Juza Waste Pickers Initiative (JWPI)  and a waste picker who understands the realities and challenges faced by waste pickers every day.

At Juza Waste Pickers Initiative (JWPI), our mission is to empower waste pickers by advocating for recognition, better policies, health and safety, capacity building, and inclusive opportunities. We believe waste pickers are essential partners in environmental conservation and sustainable waste management, yet they continue to face stigma and limited support.

Together with governments, policymakers, private organizations, development partners, and communities, we are working to build a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future where waste pickers—especially women and youth—can thrive with dignity.
